UKSOR General Rules – UK Short Oval Racing

UKSOR GENERAL RULES

These General Rules apply at all times on UKSOR servers and during organised UKSOR events. Please familiarise yourself with them before competing.

1. About UKSOR & General Conduct

About UKSOR

UK Short Oval Racing (UKSOR), formerly known as LFS Bangers Revival, organises simulated short oval racing using Live for Speed.

UKSOR hosts a variety of formulas and events, including Stock Cars, Saloon Stocks, Bangers and other short oval racing classes.

These General Rules apply to all drivers, formulas and organised UKSOR events unless a formula-specific rule states otherwise.

Each formula may have additional racing regulations covering matters such as contact, starting procedures, grading, Championship points and race format.

Where a formula-specific regulation differs from a General Rule in relation to the racing of that formula, the formula-specific regulation applies.

General Conduct

UKSOR is run for the enjoyment of everyone taking part. Drivers are expected to treat fellow competitors, Admins and Race Control with reasonable respect and help meetings run smoothly.

Instructions issued by Race Control during an organised meeting must be followed.

Deliberately disrupting a meeting, repeatedly ignoring Race Control instructions or abusing other drivers or officials may result in disciplinary action.

Hard racing and disagreements on track are part of short oval racing. If a driver disagrees with an incident or Race Control decision, the appropriate place to raise it is through the UKSOR #disputes channel after the race or meeting.

UKSOR may update these regulations where required. The current rules published on the UKSOR website are the official regulations.

2. Driver Registration & Discord Identity

Driver Registration

All drivers must be registered with UKSOR and have an allocated race number before competing in an organised UKSOR meeting.

Registration is completed through the #driver-registration channel on the UKSOR Discord server.

When registering, drivers should provide:

Car Number: 123

Driver Name: Your in-game driver name

Real Name: Joe Bloggs

Country: UK

Race numbers are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Drivers should check the UKSOR Registered Drivers list before requesting a number.

Discord Driver Identity — !claim

Once a race number has been registered, drivers should link their Discord account to their UKSOR Driver Profile using the !claim command.

The command should be entered on the UKSOR Discord server in the following format:

!claim 777 GaryG

Replace 777 with your registered race number and GaryG with your registered UKSOR driver name.

The claim will be submitted to UKSOR Admins for approval. Once approved, the driver’s Discord account will be securely linked to their UKSOR driver identity.

This identity link allows drivers to use UKSOR Discord features such as !profile to securely manage their Driver Profile photo, as well as personalised UKSOR website features including Personal Bests (PBs), Setup Sharing, and other driver-specific features as they become available.

In-Game Identification

During organised meetings, the driver’s in-game name must contain their registered race number, for example:

GaryG777 or GaryG#777

This allows Race Control and the UKSOR results systems to correctly identify the driver.

Failure to display the correct registered race number may result in the driver being excluded from the official results and/or Championship points.

Once registered, a driver may compete in any UKSOR formula or event for which they are eligible. There is no requirement to register separately for each formula.

3. Admin, Server & Race Control

UKSOR Administration

UKSOR meetings are organised and operated by volunteers who give their time to prepare events, maintain the server and website, manage results and Championships, and provide Race Control.

Drivers are expected to be respectful and patient with Admins and officials.

UKSOR Server

The UKSOR Live for Speed server is normally available 24/7 for practice and casual racing when an organised meeting is not taking place.

During organised meetings, the server may be password protected unless the event has been advertised as an OPEN EVENT.

Race Control

Organised meetings are controlled by UKSOR Race Control.

Drivers must follow instructions issued by Race Control during a meeting. This may include instructions relating to grids, race starts, flags, access to the circuit, permitted cars, race stoppages or any other requirement necessary to run the meeting.

Drivers must not use !vote or attempt to restart races or qualifying. Race restarts and session control are the responsibility of UKSOR Admins and Race Control.

Car Reset is prohibited on the UKSOR server for all formulas. If a vehicle becomes overturned, stranded or otherwise unable to continue, it cannot be reset back into the race.

UKSOR Systems

UKSOR uses automated and semi-automated systems to assist with meeting control, driver identification, circuit access, vehicle restrictions, results and other event functions.

Drivers must not deliberately interfere with, bypass or abuse these systems.

UKSOR Admins and Race Control may take appropriate action against drivers who fail to comply with these rules or meeting instructions.

4. Formula Rules

In addition to these General Rules, each UKSOR formula may have its own specific regulations covering racing conduct, contact, starting procedures, grading, points, Championships and other formula-specific requirements.

Drivers are responsible for familiarising themselves with the rules for the formula they are competing in before taking part in an organised meeting.

Where a formula-specific racing regulation differs from these General Rules, the formula-specific regulation applies to the racing of that formula. Server-wide and general conduct rules continue to apply to all formulas.

The current version of each rule set published on the UKSOR website is the official regulation.

5. Results & Official Classification

Race results from organised UKSOR meetings are processed through the UKSOR Race Control and Results systems.

Results may be reviewed by UKSOR Admins before being approved and published.

Until a result has been approved and published, it should be considered provisional.

Once published, the result displayed by UKSOR becomes the official race result and is used for Championship points, grading, driver statistics and other UKSOR records where applicable.

If an error or incident affecting a result is identified, UKSOR Admins may review and correct the result before or after publication where necessary.

Drivers wishing to question a result or report an incident affecting the classification should use the UKSOR #disputes channel.

The final decision on the official classification rests with UKSOR Admins.

6. Disputes & Disciplinary Action

Drivers who wish to report an incident, question a Race Control decision or dispute an official result should submit the matter through the UKSOR #disputes channel.

Disputes should be raised after the race or meeting and should clearly explain the incident or decision being questioned.

UKSOR Admins may review available race information and any relevant evidence before making a decision.

Disciplinary Action

Depending on the circumstances, disciplinary action may include:

Warning
Position adjustment
Points adjustment
Race disqualification
Removal from a meeting
Suspension
Server ban

Serious or repeated breaches may result in stronger disciplinary action.

Once a dispute has been reviewed and a final decision issued by UKSOR Admins, that decision is considered final.
